Started the lengthy process of sanding down the surface to a uniform quality. The recesses will hold oxidation until the entire face is ground down to that level. It’s not a difficult process, just time consuming and something to keep in mind while hammering in future.
I should be able to finish the cleanup, sharpening, and handle construction on my next day off.
