I play a lot of games, and after going through more than a few rulebooks that say stuff like, “the player who most recently saw an ostrich goes first”, I decided to turn going first into a mini game all its own.
I created a poker deck of games that turn that makes sure each game starts with fun.
The deck allows you to not only choose the first player, but can help randomly choose teams, player colors, seating, etc. You can also just make up your own games to go along with the various mechanics built into the cards.
