First Rail Spike Knife

Started a new job, after getting back from a PA vacation.

After a long week of learning shipping logistics systems, decided I needed to shape some metal with fire.

Being my first official knife, I did do an oil quench to harden, even though railroad spikes aren’t high carbon steel, I did get noticeable hardening after the quench.

Using extra fire bricks to trap heat to cut down on forge times.
Comparing original length to the drawn out knife.
